German Television Award for German Adaptation of “Red Band Society”

The entire team of the Park Inn by Radisson Cologne City West, the producer of the series “Club der roten Bänder” (Red Band Society) and their beloved VIP guest “Gerda Müller” were overjoyed with the winning of the German Television Award. Their happiness and pride for this achievement was of course honored by the hotel with a small gift of a bouquet of flowers.

The “Club der roten Bänder” is a German Drama-Comedy TV-series, which has been shown on the channel VOX since 2015. In this series the day-to-day life of many young men and women in a hospital is presented to viewers. It is a show which along with the American Version, has been adapted from the Catalan series “Polseres vermelles”, which is based on the real experiences of the playwright and scriptwriter Albert Espinosa .
The series is a story of friendships which blossom between young patient. The main focus is on the group of: Leo (Tim Oliver Schultz), Jonas (Damian Hardung), Hugo (Nick Julius Schuck), Emma (Luise Befort), Alex (Timur Bartels) und Toni (Ivo Kortlang). The teenagers spend their time together on the Child and Youth Department of the hospital and fight their illnesses together and grow into adulthood together.
The German Television Award is a TV award, which was created by the TV channels Erste, ZDF, RTL and Sat.1. It was first awarded on the 2nd of October 1999 in Cologne and was last awarded on the 13th of January 2016 in Düsseldorf.
